The Challenge

Designing Beyond Function

The Lentor Health Nursing Home project presented a rare design challenge: creating a healthcare facility that transcends its functional requirements to provide a dignified, welcoming environment for elderly residents.

The architectural team sought to move beyond the typical institutional aesthetic — flat, featureless facades that communicate nothing but utility — and instead create a building exterior that offers visual engagement, emotional warmth, and a tangible connection to the natural world.

The key constraint: the solution had to be achievable in cast concrete, durable enough for a tropical climate, and reproducible consistently across multiple panels.
