Two Home Depot stores. Two milestones. One consistent approach — tilt-wall speed, architectural precision, and formliner expertise across 270,000+ square feet of Florida retail.
This project holds a major milestone for the brand — The Home Depot's 700th store in the Southeast region, officially opened May 30, 2024. Built by White-Spunner Construction, the tilt-wall approach enabled faster enclosure and reduced onsite labor through efficient crane sequencing and reduced formwork turnover. Spec Formliners supplied precision-engineered architectural formliner tooling used during panel fabrication. Our full-height systems ensured consistent texture repetition across large wall spans, minimizing panel finishing and patching once the panels were erected. With a footprint exceeding 136,000 sq ft, texture alignment and panel quality were essential to ensuring uniform brand appearance, long-term durability, and reduced lifecycle touch-ups.
"Integrating texture decisions early allows owners and contractors to realize both economic and architectural gains — while celebrating a major growth milestone for the retailer."
Located in a rapidly growing mixed-use retail hub along the Viera corridor, this new Home Depot anchors ongoing development in one of Florida's fastest-expanding regions. The project required a speed-to-market tilt-wall strategy — large retail-scale tilt-up panels reduced schedule risk, allowing construction teams to stabilize lead times despite labor and weather variability common across Florida. Spec Formliners supplied architectural texture tooling engineered for efficient repetition across panels, protecting casting velocity and maintaining the clean, recognizable facade expected of Home Depot properties nationwide. Strategic formliner integration early in planning ensured strong brand continuity while reducing the finishing load as the location accelerated to opening day.
"Large-format retail construction isn't just about square footage — it's about predictability. Faster panel cycles, full-panel liner support, and texture as a production tool."
