Two North Carolina tilt-up projects where fast thinking, inventory depth, and the right formliner turned design challenges into stand-out architectural finishes.
The Orr Road Business Center is an infill industrial park featuring two Class-A buildings totaling over 280,000 sq ft in Charlotte's competitive North Graham submarket. With 32-foot clear heights, robust concrete slabs, expansive truck courts, and design flexibility, it stands out as a high-quality, functional warehouse solution. Spec Formliners delivered 496 sheets of our #1721 Standard Spec Flute formliners, elevating the facade with depth and definition — proving that functional warehouse space doesn't have to sacrifice architectural distinction. Distributed by White Cap and executed by tilt contractor Kent Companies, the project shows how intentional texture transforms industrial buildings even on tight timelines.
"It's not just about building — it's about making industrial design feel intentional, even when built on a tight timeline."
Last-minute changes can make or break a project. In this case, it made it remarkable. The Holt Experiential Offices in Kernersville, NC pivoted mid-project from a thin brick specification to our #1325 Rough Brick formliner — delivering a dynamic tilt-up facade that balances modern texture with traditional brick character. When design specifications change under pressure, it takes experience, inventory depth, and seamless coordination to make the transition work. Distributed by White Cap and executed by Ace Avant Concrete Construction, 970 sheets of Rough Brick transformed what could have been a setback into a stronger final design — with more character and definition than the original specification.
