Two transformative infrastructure projects in Washington State — where architectural concrete elevates a $30M county service center and a $234M multimodal interchange into lasting community landmarks.
The North Kitsap Service Center in Poulsbo, Washington represents a $30 million investment in Kitsap County's future — consolidating road operations and household hazardous waste services into a modern, 15-acre facility built for regional growth and long-term efficiency. Led by Clark Construction with concrete work by Precision Concrete, the project called for a finish that would elevate an essential but largely functional building into a genuine community landmark. Spec Formliners supplied our #1217 Random Wood pattern in 4×10 urethane form liners bonded to plywood — bringing the warmth of natural wood grain into durable concrete, delivering architectural character that matches the facility's high-performance mission. Sales Executive Mike Castillo coordinated the full scope from specification to delivery.
"This project demonstrates how thoughtful texture transforms essential infrastructure into a community landmark — practical, sustainable, and visually engaging."
The I-405 NE 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station is a $234.4 million design-build project creating Washington State's first three-level multimodal interchange — simultaneously serving local traffic, Sound Transit's Stride BRT station built directly in the I-405 median, and main freeway traffic on the top level. Led by Graham Contracting for WSDOT and Sound Transit, the project is transforming one of the Eastside's busiest corridors. Spec Formliners supplied the #1522 Ashlar pattern in durable urethane form liners for major retaining walls and large medallion pours. WSDOT has praised the texture for its clean, modern aesthetic. Sales Executive Mike Castillo coordinated the effort alongside teams at WSDOT, Sound Transit, and Graham.
"When complete, this interchange will stand as a model for modern multimodal infrastructure — showing how thoughtful engineering and architectural detailing come together at scale."
